Research summary
As there is yet to be any qualitative research to evaluate service users’ lived experience of both the journey of Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) diagnosis and a post-diagnostic skills group centred around supporting people to manage MCI challenges, it was important to try and fill the gap to help us better understand the impact of both the diagnosis and the intervention. Furthermore, as there is a general lack of representation of marginalised populations and those from Black, Asian and Minority ethnic (BAME) groups in qualitative research, the study will aim to recruit from these populations to further understand lived experiences of those diagnosed with MCI and their experience of the skills group.
